cafferty wrote the songs and he and his band performed the music. michael pare, who played eddie, lip-synched to the music. it's a simple story. cafferty and his band provided the music that was supposed to be eddie and the cruisers. does that clear it up? take care.

I've always loved this soundtrack, but never got around to seeing the movie until last night. Wonder why they didn't just ask Cafferty to play Eddie? Michael Pare (a poor man's Sly Stallone, imho) was about as animated as a piece of wet carboard when he wasn't over-lip-synching.

Saw these guys twice in concert in the last few years--once in Pocono's, Pa, and next in Jim Thorpe, Pa--they are a phenomenal concert act, VERY personable, and stick around afterward to take photo's and sign autographs, A real class act--John's voice sounds EXACTLY like it does here; he hasn't lost a bit!
I only wish they'd play more often!
