Not rich, but not poor, either, truth me told. The others were - no indoor toilets in those council houses. Ringo came from the Dingle - that's poor. Harrison was born and raised in a 2 up + 2 down. Lennon had his own room, they had a garden in front and back. He said right before he died that he 'should have been ashamed to open my mouth to sing that song whilst Ringo Starr was alive.'

i have to disagree, i like john lennon, and the beatles, but greenday is also very good, just a different style of music, and their verson of this song is great, it is good to listen to alittle bit of everything and not to get stuck in a rut all the time

green day has been around since the eighty's and only have one album that is listenable to in all that time. and now two years later or whatever, people don't even give a crap about it any more. they suck balls, whereas lennon died december of 1980, and this song is much older than that, its still a great along with lennon and all his other stuff.
