Birds Nest Soup - Thailand

The small Thai town of Pattani has gone to the birds -- literally. The town's economy is booming after residents started collecting bird saliva.
Sea Swift nests, used to make birds' nest soup and made from hardened saliva, sell for $2,000 a kg. A few years ago, the birds inexplicably started colonising Pattani. Now, all the residents have got in on the act. As one resident states: "We used to live here. But now we're going to move to make space for the birds."

do you know the sometimes when man does not get the nest, they shoo the birds away and render them homeless due to which birds lose their lives. how would you people understand? you guys eat meat and do not have any humanity in you. if you could just trade a day with any animal that is been sent to the slaughter house with no food or water, you would probably never want the same for any animal and stop eating meat

whatever might get your heart transformed. humanity is dying. just because they can not communicate the same way you do, doesn't make them without feelings. just try and understand that humans were not designed to kill but designed to save and utilise the extra sense given to them for providing help to the others.nature has its own way of putting a living thing to death, we have no right over it. just be a little considerate and stop this atrocity. not only to the birds but the other animals.

They're not killing the poor animals, they just go to their nest and take the saliva.
And taking those saliva is worth your live, because theyre mainly found in very very high places(like caves and stuff like that).
