The effect is stunning for the video, though. Lennox showed almost as much range and creativity in her videos as Madonna -- without Madonna's tackiness.

The artistic value of the song exceeds the merit lent by the video but doesnt ever punch you in the face to say so. This is how a visual expression of a song doesnt let you think that youre ever going to forget the first time you heard it on the radio. Just a thought mind you..the production value is simply incredible. It worthy too because its such a good song imo, imho.

AL is androgynous same that Jamie Curtis is androgynous. Maybe she is a male philosopher trapped in a woman's body, though she can sing/ has powerful intellect/music brain. That is part of what makes her unique/spooky/appealing is the androgyny, the mixture of male/female which is the case with a lot of entertainers. Bowie? Ziggy Stardust? ha. These put art in front of identity politics, are perhaps very private about how they really feel. then there is Elen Degeneres.... identity politician...

Michael Jackson had "Thriller." Are you saying AL had "Fill-ler?" just kidding. I'm an AL fan but yes it happens, mushy records based on one or two songs, the rest a quick sketchbook. It costs money to make hits. Requires time, good producer, equipment. Mayne this is why her consistent hi-fi records didn't happen until later. Sort of a Catch-22 if you know what I mean, expecially for an artist who does unconventional original ideas. The type of music she does is a little production-dependent.
