Thank you cb, I did read up on the topic as you suggested. I also reread the details of Michaels passing. The New South Wales coroner stated in his offical report that suicide was the cause of death. However, there is circumstantial evidence that is was possibly autoerotic asphyxiation. Therefore, my original posting contained documented fact, not a urban legend.

i don't know if anyone agrees with me but it seems to me like there is something slightly off with his voice from the recording... can't put my finger on it, almost like its a different person singing from the recorded song, i know its not, but it just sounds like it to me

definitely something wrong... i think JD is just trying to sound "powerful"... he landed on a wrong note somewhere in between doing that and then just didnt recover ! would have been better if he had not strayed away looking for something he wont find in his voice... :)

I felt he sounded good, but you're both right maybe a little different. Likely more because of the illness though. A crew member said Jason had a high fever and could barely speak. The doctor gave him an injection in his neck to reduce the swelling, but he didn't want meds for the pain. We saw them not long after and JD's voice was full-on, better than the cd even. They really are a great band live. Hope you'll give them another listen :) (afterglow sault ste marie)
