I respect your opinion but I disagree. I love how long Opeth's music carries out, it is simply art. Dream Theater I feel is a little goofy, they try to hard, and it ends up being more of a novelty than great music.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. Dream theater and Opeth are two DIFFERENT bands, the only they have in common are being Prog metal. Dream theater draws people in through lyrics combined with instrumentals. however Opeth relys on its instrumentals. I love both bands and think that they are on different levels and cannot be compared too deeply

Yeah, I respect that. I do enjoy Dream Theater as well, sometimes though I think they go a little overboard. Both very good, underrated bands. If only the radio was flooded with music from these artists......

well, I listened to opeth a lot more recently, and can now sit through and enjoy their songs easier, but recently the bands i've been enjoying have all had really short songs (2.5-3.5 minutes) so I'm always hearing something different. Part of what i'm saying about dream theater is that while the songs aren't quite as like beautiful and melodic as opeth, theres a lot more going on which personally holds my attention better.

Anyone here go to Camden Underworld back in 01 with Opeth supported by Katatonia? Anything from BW Park reminds me of that gig and to this day that is the best Opeth gig I've been to...plus only time I've seen Katatonia live, talk about a band that never tours! This is a fantastic album, not as good as Still Life but well up there.
