A great film. Remember it's all about the music. You need not spend as much to get top sounds.Good music such as Bo Diddley/Stones/Hendrix/Zep/Pistols/James Brown/Kraftwerk Jazz & Classical. Those guys are mad but I salute them. Valves better but can be trouble. Transistors with good cable can sound sublime. Cd done properly can sound "non digital". Vinyl is best. Build in accordance to your room size. Go to Hi-fi exhibitions, a cheap way of hearing top sounds without getting your fingers burned

I am greek also, this great equipment, the other side is, it is quite expensive. I orefer to have equipment whih produce great celar clean sound without the cost, I am sure this can be done. Thx.

i'm greek (and dutch) too. just 16 years old and lucky enough to be an audiophile. now i want to built a starter system with a budget of $500 for the cd-player, pre, and poweramp and around $1000 for the speakers.
is there anyone who knows if the sony SACD player SCD-XE597(with dac) and the sony TA-FE370 pre/poweramp produce nice sound? Is the Kef iQ9 a good speaker choise?

The best speakers at that price is without comparison Monitor Audio Silver RS6 - google that and read the Stereophile review (the best magazine for high end audio). It sounds way more dynamic and than KEF (I have owned $5000 KEF's and know the product)

Get a rega mira 3 amp, apollo cd and if you really want good music, a Rega p3-24 recordplayer! Vinyl is much better that any digital source.

A piece of honest advise, that may save you a lot of money over the years: Rega is the best value and music for your money.
I have owned a lot of different gear and heard most there is, including $10,000 amps.
You can search for that perfect sound forever - or just have a lot of fun listening to good music on a very fine and "cheap" REGA-system (with the Monitor Audio RS6 or Rega R5 speakers). Good luck

thanks! i've seen their product range and Rega looks like a serious hifi brand. there's only one problem... the price tags. i'm looking for a simple hifi and the monitor audio rs6 looks like perfect for the price to me. i hope to get a high end hifi some years later and i'm thinking about the North Star Design products wich i've heard and sound more than impressive.

I use Nordost Valhalla power cable with my laptop (cloverleaf adapter from Russ Andrews). High quality mains cables are better for your health.
