The only reason why the US is still doing halfway decent technology wise is because we brain drain the rest of the world of their smartest people. When our economy crumbles, there will no longer be a reason for them to come here to this country, they will choose to stay home. Plus, America is now becoming a fascist country, a sign of stagnation.

Hey, the US economy is fine because there is something intangible about America because it has entrepreneurial freedom and there are guys inventing stuff in their basements that will make trillions and trillions of dollars and that will save social security and the national debt. With an argument like that there's really nothing to worry about.

[Schiff: What´s the difference?] you can preserve the integrity of the dollar though open market operations"? ... LOL ... This has to be this years best joke!!! Careful Ron Paul backers, neither Steve Forbes nor George Gilder are shrills for the neocons, owned by Fox, or water carriers for the Republican Party, despite this debate with Peter Schiff....both are intelligent respectable economic thinkers who could go toe-to-toe with Paul in a debate, but I suspect both would agree with Paul on more issues then they would disagree. Unlike Paul's current presidential rivals, who are all ignorant of national economic policy. Do your homework

With the plummeting dollar, growing national dept and the interest on the nat. dept, how can a default be considered ludicrous? If we let our gov. spending to run up our nat. dept we will come to a point where the looming problem of interest rate on the dept will force us to default b/c we simply will not be able to pay! I agree with everything Forbes has said here aside from his dismissal of a default. If the dollar continues in its downward spiral, confidence in the dollar will disappear.

I have to second this, many of Forbes' views of economic reform align with those of Ron Paul; the only issue I take with Forbes is his dismissal of a default.
As for the people ganging up on Forbes, watch this video again and actually listen to him; alot of what Forbes is saying here is what Ron Paul is advocating.
