oh my god! "welcome to budapest, the capital of hungary!". it shows just how few americans seem to know about the world. i mean, c'mon guys, do you really need further explanation when you hear the names of capitals? or is it just the media who misrepresent you? cause many people over here get the feeling that 90% of the americans don't even know where hungary (or scotland, or ghana etc.) is. "on the axis of evil", probably. correct me, if i'm wrong ;).

it's not bizarre. he just did it because he knew people would murder to get the book :D. honestly, house is a great show, and even fans who can't read would buy the book. it's simple as that. greed for money, if you ask me. and you know what? i don't think the survey is as professionally done as it's depicted on tv. but that's just my opinion.
anyway, excuse my english. it's not my mother tongue...

it's not about insulting at all. it's about experimenting with different treatments and stuff like that. and, of course, about not carrrying out his duties.

ofmg. you do realise, that doctors get addicted to drugs quite often, do you? it's because they are doing a job that can't be done without help. well, the scholastics really sucks, anyway. but actually doing the job is even harder. as a kid, i really wanted to become a doctor. but it's a frigging hard job!

Doctors can get addicted to drugs just like anyone else. Especially if they get addicted in the same manner that House did. House's drug use started out as legitimate pain management (and I think it still is, some of it, anyway). But it progressed to psychological addiction.
I have had a similar experience with post-operative pain, but my medication led to physical addiction, which, in my opinion is worse than psychological.

Same here. I was bored and truly thought the show would suck one night and 3 seasons later I'm still watching it, and definitely waiting on the 4th! It would be cool if there were more real doctors like house. Then again there may be... on second thought that doctor might be in jail! lol

great show but that guy wasted a year of his life, if he had the dvd and watched the special features, the writers acually say they get all there ideas from real life things and its all true/real.

[H]ouse is possibly the most epic show ever, and I hope my addiction to it never dies. Still, spending your days dissecting every frame of the show to see if it is realistic or not is... Ehm. Well. Past my obsession. And I am -really- obsessed. Anywho, who cares if it's realistic or not? The show is AMAZING. Hugh Laurie can bring down the world with a script.

Speaking from 15-years experience in Pharmacy, 8-of which I managed a hospital pharmacy, House would have been out the door from an HR standpoint.
From a pharmacy standpoint, the way he walks up and gets his meds is absolute BS. That's not how it's done.
And believe me, hospitals take HR issues seriously as a first offense of a HIPPA rules violation could be as much as $250,000.
But still a great show.

I like HouseMD, and many of the cases are pretty real, of course with its own proportion of drama, no one can surely know how long it will take to an infection create an organic failure. Yeah, House rules!! but he doesn't know how to use an sthetoscope in its right position!!!!

i so love House as well!!!!! I am making a story on one of the episodes that i get to make up and let me tell you it's hard work! I had to look up things and the person in the story (age 15) IS having Inernal Bleeding. Well to get that u have to have certain things happen to ya and it's crazy!
