if you started playing properly and not "as a joke" as you put it, you could be a pretty good player if you worked on your right hand technique and rhythm

You need to work on your Right hand technique. You alternate, but rarely. You gotta alternate all the time. Helps with the speed, and makes it sound smo0ther.
