In the original manga Goku never fought Kid Buu at SSJ2, he imediatly went SSJ3 right at the beginning. The whole SSJ2 Goku vs Kid Buu fight is anime filler. Very cool anime filler that is. XD

There weren't enough episodes with this animation, but there were others. One was when Gohan killed Cell (the one before that episode had the crappy kind of animation), when Gohan was getting his ass kicked by Buutenks, when Gotenks first went SSJ3, etc. There were about four different animation styles. Regular (like when Goku finally killed Kid Buu), great, mediocre (like the ep when Gohan finally became Ultimate Gohan), and utter crap (like the episode that was before this one).

yh its also the same when vegito fought buu(gohan absorbed). in the original manga vegito immediately transforms into super vegito when he first appears to fight buu(gohan absorbed) but for anime filler he fights buu in his normal state before he transforms and was suprisingly very strong even in his normal state he was matching buu (gohan absorbed)
