oil companies are mostly Union even in third world countries lol besides oil companies aren't just big like walmart they are a true monoply. They no that you are not going to quit buying gas becuase it's a dollar more than what you'd like to spend.Walmart is cheap becuase they spend very little buy exploiting piss poor souls much like how a columbian cocaine cartel does.Walmart bleeds the poor when they should be paying there people higher wages.

Well when you are a mother working for a child and in America without affordable healthcare you would be singing a different tune lool. but in Canada I guess you don't have to worry about that.Besides it depends on the company also your union friend may get paid less but also recieve retirment benefits and vacation pay that you working at walmart would not get.also some people depend on walmart as there only reliable resource of employment so they want to feel safe in a union.

Thanks for the link. I feel sorry for small business owner in small town America. Maybe because I live in Los Angeles, I don't see effect WalMart makes to our community because it is very competitive here.

UnionS aren't always about good pay but if the company is not big then I doubt they could compete so much with a corporation like walmart.I've never heard of "Miejer" and it's probely a reginal thing and not a nationwide store like walmart and therefore they will not pay like walmart wages becuase they have a much smaller profit margin but this is a grocery store you speak of then that expLAINES IT. GROCERIES DON'T HAVE PROFIT MARGINS LIKE ACTUAL HARDWARE GOODS .

I have worked for walmart for 7 years! after 5 years at my first store, i moved and had to transfer to another store. i was full time for those 5 years and even though i didnt quit and get rehired, only moved to a different store, i was "hired in" at the 2nd store as a part time worker.... just so they didnt have to pay me the benifits i'd earned before i got there. I am also not able to get a full time postion becuse every time one opens, i apply for it but never get interveiwed. walmart sucks

caz its horrible for the enviorment for 1 thing 2 the stuff they sell is junk 3 the people that work there have no other choises most r single moms and other people who have trouble finding work especailly with how the ecconmy is right now 4 u dont even make min wage there but i think they upped that to make it seem like they where better when they arent should i continue
