Turbulence
Uploaded by: Jigsaw407
Video Description:
My first FS2004 video. My first video at all, really. It shows a C-119 Flying Boxcar in "Flight Simulator 2004" following a straight autopilot course over the Libyan desert while being shaken by strong turbulence (windspeed 19 knots from 10dgr true, some up- and downdrafts and heavy rain)

As far as I know there is only a handful of them left in operation. About 20 are registered in the US, plus an unknown number worldwide. One airworthy C-119 was used in the remake of the movie "Flight of the Phoenix" with Dennis Quaid. Check it out if you wanna see it in action again. The flight scenes are gorgeous.

my father flew C-119's in the AF Reserve from 1958-63. I'm going to post some 8mm footage of them dropping troops and a jeep down at Bragg. I doubt the remake of FLight of the Phoenix can compare to the orginal with Jimmy Stewart
It just looks that ... ( 9 months ago by Jigsaw407)
It just looks that way. They tried to simulate the effect that you can often see on rotating objects that are being filmed. Films work with 24 frames per second. When the rotation of a propeller or car rim is just right, it happens that the blades have almost the exact same position every frame, even though they are moving. Depending on the speed it sometimes can look as if they dont move, or move backwards.
