Bush needs to light up Iran like this before he leaves office, the pussy Obama will piss his pants...
Array ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
So what?
They first attacked us in 1992 in Yemen and 1993 in the WTC bombing.
Yeah, I know. According to you we deserved it.
Well then, I guess they deserved our response.
I appreciate your ... ( 2 days ago by gwcolonial2010)
I appreciate your experience in the Arab world. I think it is fascinating that you lived with them and share their perspective on this issue. Invasions of other countries are extremely controversial by nature because they do not take into account the lives, or the cultures, of those nations in question until after the mission is initiated.
I will agree with ... ( 2 days ago by gwcolonial2010)
I will agree with you that because we didn't see if we could stage a coup so moderates could take over and form their own Islamic democracy with Sharia law that that could have potentially rescued our credibility and given them the opportunity to make their country what they would like it to be. However, elaborate U.S.-backed coups like the Bay of Pigs and Operation Mongoose in 1961, 1962, were costly to the U.S. because we backed them and trained anti-Castro elements only to have them fail.

I didn't say we deserved it. I said we should learn from it by stop policing the world and only go after OBL till his cronies are caught or killed.
The Gulf War was ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
The Gulf War was not a "police" action. The invasion of Iraq was not a distraction from the hunt for Bin Laden. We have never stopped pursuing him and all levels of Al Qaeda members. Do you have any idea the number high ranking and foot soldier members we have either captured or killed? It's pretty staggering.
By the way, capturing or killing OBL or Al-Zawahiri will not end the "war on terror" (i hate that phrase, btw). Terror is weapon, not an enemy.
There were no ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
There were no Al-Qaeda members in Iraq till the invasion. They were all located in Afghanisan and on the Pakistan border. The thousands of Al-Qaeda members who were captured were mostly captured in Afghanistan and then there were ones captured in Iraq but only after the 2003 invasion. The training camps as well as OBL is located at the Pakistan/Afghanistan border.
Dude, no offense, ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
Dude, no offense, but Al Zarqarwi, Abu Nidal and the Ansar Al Islam group all were very happily living and working in Iraq before the 2003 invasion.
Saddam's Mukhabarat also had many verified contacts and meetings with various Al Qaeda leaders.
If you don't trust me, look it up.
That was a report ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
That was a report from Tony Blair who was the smae guy that claimed that Iraq had WMD's which turned out to be false.
Finally the Middle East loved America before 1953 which is when the US went into Iran to replace an elected government with a fascist leader. If you don't believe me, look it up.
Oh brother. Tony ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
Oh brother. Tony Blair wasn't the only one who said he had WMDs. Every major friggin country in the world said the same.
And again, with Iran, everything is our fault according to you.
A declassified ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
A declassified Pentagon report also said that even if Al Zarqarwi was in Iraq before the 2003 invasion, there was still no evidence of ties to Saddam Hussein.
Last, one thing is certain. The Middle East loved America until the 1953 Iran takeover.
Geez... the 1953 ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
Geez... the 1953 coup was a joint US/British plot based on commie fears about the USSR and the Iranian oil fields.
Don't be so simple minded as to blame that for the rise of Islamic fanaticism.
And, I recall palestinians cheering in the streets after the 9/11 attacks. Were they pissed about what happened in 1953?
What about the marine barracks bombing in Beirut in '83? Hell, what about bin laden and Somalia in '92?
The 1953 resulted ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
The 1953 resulted in the 1979 hostage takeover of the US Embassy.
Again, bin LAden didn't like America policing the world and went to Somalia. OBL goes anywhere there is American precense and it was the troops being located in Saudia Arabia that got to hate America.
I see. So it has ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
I see. So it has nothing to do with the fact that he views americans as infidels. i.e. non-muslim. Sure, in his letters he points out our presence in Saudi Arabia, etc. etc. etc. as to why he fights us.
But he also stresses quite clearly in all his letters that he won't stop fighting us until we embrace islam. that is the core reason al Qaeda fights us and the west. not any so called "occupation" or american "policing".
we are infidels and ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
we are infidels and that is what this is all about. Not grievances.
Our policing is ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
Our policing is interfereing with the muslim world.
it has nothing to ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
it has nothing to do with it. Besides, we're not policing the muslim world. we're fighting a war. the fanatics won't quit until they destroy israel or they themselves are destroyed.
if they stop fucking attacking us and recognize israel, we'll stop massacring them.
Israel can handle ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
Israel can handle themselves, they have 300 nukes. Second, I didn't say we shouldn't hold the terrorists accountable but that we should not be in the middle East ever again when all this is over. We also need to know where the real war is and that is in Pakistan and Bush did the right thing recently by firing at Al-Qaeda militants in Pakistan.
Israel needs us as ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
Israel needs us as an ally and I hope we always will be.
For once, we're in agreement regarding Pakistan. We certainly need more troops in Afghanistan and need more leverage and support pursuing the Taliban and Al Qaeda in the tribal belts on the border. Also, a strategy similar to Anbar in Iraq will be necessary. With Petraeus at the head of CENTCOM, I think this can happen.
Someone to look at ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
Someone to look at is Mangal Bagh, the head of the Lashkar-e-Islam army in Khyber agency. He is opposed to the Taliban and is very powerful and enigmatic leader.
Who knows though. It's so fucked up there its anyone's guess. Still we need to win this and yes, get out.
Unfortunately, I have very very little faith in Obama.
Although Israel has ... ( 2 days ago by dude58677)
Although Israel has alot of enemies, they have 300 nukes, a large army, and a large armed populace.
yes, with her back ... ( 2 days ago by johnfkoehler5)
yes, with her back to the sea and surrounded on all sides by enemies.
All it would take is one nuke detonated in Tel Aviv, and no more Israel. Those 300 nukes you claim they have wouldn't be worth squat.
This policing of ... ( 1 day ago by dude58677)
This policing of the world with Israel is why the world hates us. We also created more problems with Israel when Irael was about to capture Arafat but then Colin Powell came into stop seek peace. It has harmed us and it has harmed Israel.
I said Israel was ... ( 1 day ago by dude58677)
I said Israel was ABOUT to capture Arafat TILL Powell STEPPED in to promote peace.
"The world doesn't hate us"
Terrorists hate us and the world has hated us but you refuse to acknowledge it.
Last, I would like to see the governemnt get rid of the IRS and the only debt-free way to do that is to stop policing the world, stop givng AID to foreign countries, and to stop allowing defense contractors to leach off of us.
