In the Gamecube version, nothing was really updated except for the graphics and gameplay. Besides the addition of some lockers to hide bodies and extended cutscenes with over the top action, the level design and boss battles pretty much remained the same. Shooting in first person view made the boss fight with Ocelot too quick and easy, and I never understood why they had to re-record all of the voice overs. However I'd say it's still worth playing for those who missed out on the original.

I think they put that little bullet slicing part in because they wanted to show more of his skill as a ninja, and because he was the only one to get Fox as rank, hope i could help.
