Part 1 Summary: In the secret room, Natalie starts laughing at Tess. Did Tess really think she could make Jared fall in love with her? Tess looks hurt for a second, then shuts Natalie up: Jared's not going to fall in love with TESS, but with JESSICA. After all, Natalie and Jess have a history of falling for the same guy. Why should it be any different now? Plus, Tess has the advantage of being widowed and pregnant. Jared's likely to feel sorry for her, especially if he's her birthing coach! What better way to seduce him?
Meanwhile, Jared heads over to Rex's place to see if Natalie's there. Rex pretty much tells him to shove off, but Jared's really worried. Natalie wouldn't just take off without telling Rex or Roxy or Viki. Rex reads Natalie's "Dear John" letter and agrees it's not Nat's style but tells Jared the same thing John did: Get over it.
Adriana calls from Paris with the suggestion that she and Rex take a vacation to rekindle their romance. Thinking of Gigi and Shane, Rex can't take it anymore and blurts that he wants a divorce! Adriana's hurt, but she's stunned that Rex knows Shane's his son and that Adriana must've helped Brody rig the paternity test, courtesy of Rex's old toothbrush. She asks Rex to talk about this face-to-face, but at that moment Gigi arrives. Rex tells Adriana he's in love with someone else and hangs up on her. Adriana calls Brody and rips him a new one, saying she gave him the perfect opportunity to keep Gigi and Shane, but he messed it up.
Brody's already having a bad day, and Adriana's call just made it worse. First, he wakes up late to go with Shane on his first day of school. Second, while having a nightmare, he flips Shane to the floor, scaring the heck out of both Shane and Gigi. Third, Gigi announces she plans to tell Shane the truth today, so Brody'd better start packing his bags. After hanging up with Adriana, Brody's anger and fear get the better of him, and he starts trashing the Carriage House!
At La Boulaie, Dorian confronts Ray: What does he want from Langston? Ray doesn't let Dorian scare him, probably because he's faced scarier folks. He assures Dorian he doesn't want her money; he wants to get to know Langston. In fact, he wants to take her to Colombia. Dorian: Over my dead body!
At Llanview High, Starr and Langston stumble into the welcome-back assembly, giving everyone a good long look at Starr's seven-months-pregnant belly. It doesn't take long before someone starts heckling her. Langston jumps up to defend Starr -- and before long, Markko and Cole are in a brawl defending both Starr and Langston.
The day gets even wilder when Starr takes the stage to put an end to the teasing. She dares the student body to make fun of her, and then gives a lecture on safe sex.

high school portrayals may be a bit sterotypical, but i won't say its totally off the mark.
the assholes make a big deal out of everything as long as nobody does the same to them. the bullies are worse.
