I was showing a model a photo I had taken of her in the studio the other day. Afterwards she asked how much editing went into the photo...i thought this summed it up better than just answering her :)

y'know i keep watching n watching but what is that strange red paint brush thingy? i know its making the eyes and lips bigger.. but how do euu do that? O_O

under filters you'll find the liquify tool. That's what's used to make her lips fuller and opens her eyes a little. The red brush is called a 'freeze mask'. whatever you paint with red is protected from the other warping tools. In other words it lets me make her lips fuller without distorting the rest of her face.

NIcely Done, i would have taken a bit Reddishness out of her Eyes. Though i'd pitch in my two cents.

i have a question...theres a quick selection tool thats u actually paint the part that u want to select and then u can change the colors...where do i find it?

How do you make her eyes brighter and still make them look realistic? O.o i can only change the color of the eyes, not make them brighter :( tell me please :P

Mostly PS CS3 :P I also use 3D max and realflow, i dont think those would help so much tho for editing a photo ^^;

In CS3 my current method (it changes frequently) is to add a blank layer on top of the original photo, set the blending mode to 'overlay', and then use the paintbrush to paint white over top of the iris. Usually I paint it at 100%, then reduce the opacity of the paint layer until it looks right.

First off, you do your job well. No doubt about that.
I just wish all women and girls could see stuff like this so they could know how fake our society's image of "acceptable beauty" is.
