Edmonton Alberta Tornado

July 31, 1987
Canada has had a handful of violent tornadoes. On the day of the Hermitage twister in 1985 (look for it in my uploads), the city of Barrie Ontario was devastated by an F4.
This clip is of the Edmonton twister in its developing stages, captured on home video. This tornado was also F4, and killed 27 people. Check out the massive bowl-shaped wall cloud. The multiple vortices in this thing are wild; it rivals the Oshkosh tornado of April 21st, 1974 for the most dramatic example of a multi-vortex storm.
Sorry, the quality of the footage isn't the best; it was transfered from a very old VHS tape.

Actualy Edmonton is a fair drive north of calgary , so it's around the midplains of Alberta. I think Canada's southernmost portion is southwestern ontario where I live , Havnt had an f4 here since barrie in the early 80's

This storm was the shitz ,I Was living in the northwest part of millwoods when it struck just remebering this gave me the shivers , coming home from millbourne mall in the biggest hailstorm in alberta history softball size hail completley shattering my car windows

i love storms thought , driving threw this one i thought was quite exciting but not for my 2 month old son in the back who was crying his eyes out terrified from the violent thunder and lightining and the gigantic hail hitting the car.

My mom lived in Millwoods when that happened, but her mom (my grandma) took my mom and my uncle camping somwhere else knowing that there was going to be a tornado.

omg my mom was like 10 or 13 when this happend and her and my g-ma and my uncle and went down the there basment becasue they lived in sherwood park and the tornado went trought there and it went right over her house and my g-pa almost got sucked in it but he got away
