We were separated in the past because of geography, ways of communication, andculture. Very dumb reason to separate. We should be together again.

Christianity wasn't spread by handing Bibles out. Aside from the fact that the printing press didn't appear for some 1400 years after the Resurrection (which of itself would make complete Bibles rare before that time), most people in the western world were functionally illiterate until quite recently. Christ came with a teaching, and He established His Church as the household of faith and the custodian of His Mysteries. The idea that Christianity IS "the Bible" is illogical and unhistorical.

Christ is the basis of man's relationship to God, not the Torah, which strictly speaking is now only taught for didactic reasons - the prescriptions and punishments of the Law of Moses have been fulfilled in Christ. Those who teach the "Law" as salvation are workers against the Gospel.

Ummm...the Orthodox Church has NEVER had services only in Greek. Strictly speaking, the ideal (even if it doesn't usually happen very fast in practice) IS VERNACULAR. You're supposed to actually be able to understand what's going on in Church. Orthodoxy does not agree with the long standing (though now abandoned) practice of the Roman Catholics, who once insisted on the use of Latin in the services on principle (basically as a way of further centralizing Churches under the Pope.)

People REALLY need to be careful with those words - "canonical" or "uncanonical." Perhaps you're the glaring exception, but I find that most often they're terms thrown around by those who lack the qualifications to utter them. Case in point - strictly speaking, the normal method of giving Holy Communion to the laity is itself "against the canons" which deal with the topic. This is of course beside the fact that the application of the canons belongs to the EPSICOPATE, not laymen.

The Holy Canons do not belong to the Episcopate but to the whole Church.The Bischops are not above the Canons, they have to follow them and keep them. When they do not keep them anymore, let them be deposed.
Like we can see here, where are the Bishops when such ucanonical things happen - catholic looking priests, pews, women without a hair covering,people are mixed (men and women) and not seperated....???
