I stayed at the Riviera this past Christmas, and I had a really good time there. They have great slot promotions!
I stayed there ... ( 1 year ago by sambusa11)
I stayed there during the NBA all star game and it was terrible. the dealers are rude, and there is always a guy next to check in that try to sell me something and wont leave me alone.. the bell service took 25 minutes to get me my bag and the guy was telling me how he got waisted the night before.. the walls are paper thin and we heard the couple next door having sex all night long, reminded me of a chevy chase movie from the 80's.. demolition crew ASAP

Wow, that's such a different experience than I had this past Christmas. I didn't play any table games, so I can't comment on the dealers. I didn't use the bellhop service either, so I can't comment. Nobody tried to sell me anything. I didn't hear other guests through the walls. The people that ran the slot tournaments were friendly, as were the ladies who operated the "free gift" area. We had a good time! I guess the experience at the Riviera can vary greatly.

I forgot to add that I heard many businesses all over town were caught unprepared for the volume of guests they received during the All Star Game. The news here was reporting that things were very chaotic that weekend.

ohh yeah.. 1st there was the southwest airlines fiasco, people were stranded in the aiport because they over booked 80% of their flights, you could try for an hour to find a table game on the strip!. I will say that about the riviera, when we called security about the noise from the other room, they came right away and asked them to be quiet.. its just a really old hotel and really out dated.. I will be in vegas tomorrow for the weekend, will try the golden nugget

I was there too during the NBA-Allstar fiasco. I dont mean to be racist, but there were ghetto broke black people from all over the country there, all of Compton and Inglewood was there. But what is to be expected?
They are ... ( 1 year ago by VivaToddVegas)
They are celebrating the spectacle that was put on by the demolition company, and the move towards the future that the demolition of the Stardust will pave the way for. The north end of the Strip is in need of an overhaul, and replacing the Stardust is a step in that direction. We will miss the Stardust, but time marches forward.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. There are many people who have problems with gambling. There are also many more people who have no problem using it as a safe, fun form of entertainment. It's all about moderation.

Not as good as a Fred Dibnah demolition job, he would have demolished it without explosives, or bulldozer, and when it fell, he would have sounded his famous claxon. Fred was THE man, famous steeplejack from Bolton England.....Bolton is the english equivalent of Las Vegas...

Wow. That was such a strange sad thing to watch. It's so odd that they made it into such a spectacle like the 4th of July or something... This might seem a little extreme, but I felt like I was about to witness an execution. I'm just very into preserving history...and these cheering people are obviously in a completely different headspace...to the point that I can't even understand how they could react that way to such a sad event.

I think a lot of people (including me) have mixed feelings when an old building comes down here. It's sad to see something familiar disappear, but at the same time it makes space for newer (and hopefully better) hotels. The building was coming down, whether the crowd watched or not. It was already closed, and stood empty. The employees and patrons that made the place live and breathe were already gone. It was just an empty shell. I think the crowd enjoyed the spectacle, not the closing.

I doubt you have the knowledge and ability to do so, since you can't even write a correct sentence. I also hope you're aware that statements like these are likely to peak the interest of the Department of Homeland Security. You obviously crave attention, but I doubt you want THAT kind of attention. Murder threats are against the law.
