royce g says rickson is 10 times better than he is..royce fought sakuraba 90 minutes,and couldnt stop royce..the match ended because of a royce foot injury..rickson choked out funaki,and funaki has wins over ken shamrock(prime) frank shamrock(prime) and bas rutten (prime)..rickson did that at about 40 yrs old..paulo filho says noone can grapple like rickson(they have grappled) and filho trains with nogeira's,arona(undefeated in grappling tourney's),and anderson silva..rickson is the man

In his time Rickson Gracie was the best who ever did it. I love Rickson and all but MMA has evolved from his time and if he was to step into the cage now he would be soundly defeated and furthermore all those other fighters you people were talking about Sakuraba, Marc Kerr and others werent really famous in his day so there wouldnt be a point in Rickson fighting them lets just remember the man for who he is a legend in the sport and a god in Brazilian Jiujitsu.

The Gracies ain't out of it yet though, and are still fearsome opponents to see in the cage. So, in a way, Rickson doesn't have to step in a cage to see wins, he just sends Renzo, Ralph, Roger and Ralek in his place, heh. And ol' Royce is still in the MMA scene, strong as ever. Dunno bout everyone else, but to me it seemed he just dropped of the planet for awhile.

Iam actually surprised he wasnt chosen for the 1st UFC . They say they wanted a small Gracie to prove it worked. But Royce was 6'1
while Rickson is 5'8

Rickson was not the best until Rolls passed, Rickson trained exclusively with Rolls and Helio but it was Rolls who gave Rickson his toughness. Rolls was the one who Rickson had to strive to be as good as! Rickson evolved due to his training with Rolls! And for Stuntz1 who says Rickson is no legend, the man has earned his in Brazil and around the world! Rickson is Legend and you who has done or acheived nothing can not change that! Rickson knowledge and application is bar none thanks to Rolls!

It sure was fun back in the day when any Rickson blue belt could kick anybody's ass in a club, including the bouncers. Yes, those days are gone I'm afraid, but training with the best will never be forgotten by me. I learned a lot in his garage and in the old dump on Pico Blvd. Rickson is a great teacher, and a true warrior.

Why would you cite Rorion as better? I'm not saying you're automatically wrong, just wondering why you'd say that.
Personally I'm suspicious of all things Rorion. The guy's such a propaganda machine, I doubt most things he or anyone else says about him.

First of all Rorion is the oldest... Many years of experience more than all his brother probably a little bit more then Relson... Just that you never seen Rorion fight in the UFC or Japan like Rickson or Royce or Royler doesn't mean that they are not good as them... I mean Rorion is the UFC founder... I train with his son... Very nice Gracie family!!! I met his dad Rorion, and can rightly tell you something??? Rorion and Relson is like a hidden tiger... When the tigers present claws you"ll know!

I respect that you train with Rorion's son. I train with Carley Gracie, the son of Carlos (Rorion is the son of Helio, Carlos's brother). Rorion tried to claim that only Helio's wing of the family is genuine "Gracie Jiu Jitsu" and tried to trademark the name. There was a big lawsuit. Rorion is not popular in much of the Gracie family for this reason and others.
Anyway, I've never heard Rorion cited as a great competitor, never heard of him competing outside small dojo matches.

Then we are all a family of Jujitsu bro.... Oh brother I respect in Carley Gracie tremedously don't get me wrong!!! He was champion in 1969 through 1972, in both Sport Jiu-Jitsu and Vale Tudo. I understand you got your teachers back and I the same way... I never met Carely... I understand that Rorion can be off and say stuff that he is not suppose to say. But to tell you the truth in REALITY I think and know that his Jujitsu is amazing!!!! I believe that he will dominate UFC if there a chance.

There was even a part where Rigan nearly took Rickson's back! Rickson is beatable, just like any other BJJer. If he fights at fifty someone from the MMA elite, he'll likely lose.
