Tiger centipedes have a more "mild" bite compared to other 'pedes. I'm sure it would still be painful and I personally wouldn't handle any centipede. I do handle some of my tarantulas and emperor scorpions, though.

for me, there is a slight sting and slight itch for up to half an hour, and then for a few days afterwards there is an even slighter itch or sting if the area is roughly agitated. not bad at all.

that's true for most bugs, but not centipedes. they're known for biting unexpectedly.
