What I like most ... ( 4 months ago by ThaSchwab)
What I like most about Argerich is she's female. All these male pianists try to halt the cliche piano teacher mom. Only her and Grimaud, really, are acceptable pianists (ore the only female one's I've heard of).
And I'm male. :D

en el primer minuto me da la ligera sensacion de que la orquesta suena un poco descompenetrada...genial argerich =D

Obviously, they are cameramen...and the impression of a "ghost" is probably due to the quality of flv at Youtube.
the conductor ... ( 3 months ago by foodmore)
the conductor starts off the orchestra with a certain tempo, and then a few seconds later, when Argerich starts playing, she completely changed the tempo.

She takes this way ... ( 3 months ago by Balancement)
She takes this way too fast and doesn't allow for the nuance and brilliance of either the piano or the orchestral parts to shine through. This was written as a piece of *music,* not a tool for show-off pianists who are more concerned with how fast they can play the notes accurately.

too sharp? this "sharp" is the character of Martha Argerich!

Yefim Bronfman plays it much better (from my honest point of view). I uploaded Yefim's version, you can watch it and comment...

I'd say the orchestra started too slow for her.
for those of u ... ( 1 month ago by dilisead)
for those of u people who judge argerich's playing, think about these:
1. she is argerich, she holds many jury seats in elite competitions
2. she is argerich, she can turn the music sheets of this concerto upside down & play it if she want bc she can.
3. she is argerich, who won the chopin compt., her juries (composed by renown pianists) accepted her performance. u r not a renown pianist& that's y u r not the jury of Chopin compt therefore dont judge bc she knows what she's doing

If you truly love ... ( 4 days ago by PianoClassMan)
If you truly love to make music then NEVER give up. There are NO good teachers. Tchaikovsky received an F in composition for this concerto. Research it! Liszt said that the artist must FIND HIS OWN way. If your teacher does not treat you like gold then find another or teach yourself. A secret of the pros is no CAFFIENE. Believe it or not.
No caffiene is better than two extra hours of Czerny.
