Oh My God, dust cloud extending 15 miles high! think of all the pollutants pushed into the upper atmosphere which will surely affect our environment. What the hell was Al Gore doing when this erupted? What is he doing to stop the next catastrophic eruption? Please help us Al!

There is also nothing that we can do to prevent the sun from heating and cooling the earth, yet Al Gore has placed the blame on us, and all the chicken little's are running around in an exercise of futility to attempt to reduce green house gasses. My point was that the earth does much more harm to our environment than we ever do, and there is nothing we can do to prevent it. Peoples energy would be much better spent worrying about a planet killing asteroid then global warming.

That was probably Mt. Mazama 7000 years ago, and then Krakatau in 1883. the sound of the blast was heard thousands of miles away, and all the ash spewed into the atmosphere caused a year without a summer

I suppose that since the sun is currently in a cool cycle it is also not responsible for the current drop in earths (and other planets in our solar system) temperature? PS. the Earths temperature has everything to do with the Sun.

ps. I study astronomy and the suns tempreture does not cause global climate change atleast not for the last few million years.
We are in a 11 year sun spot cycle with last year being the low, it is no picking up again. What are sun spots? They are a result of solar activity and magnetic fields causing cool pockets on the surface of the sun (in laymans terms). There is also less solar win atm (which is heated plasma which is reflected off earth by the atmosphere and forms the aurora borealis).
