There's nothing "distorted" about our perception of beauty. No "perception" is absolute anyway, just opinionated. In fact the threat to our species is that things like make-up, boob-jobs, etc. actually stagnate evolution from occuring as effectively to naturally "deselect" those individuals less adapted to the environment. Those individuals with fake boobs, for example, may be selected by mates after a "boob job" because they APPEAR to be better equipped to care for their offspring.

our perception of beauty IS distorted, and it can't be true that beauty is completely based on opinion, or else super models wouldn't all be tall and skinny with thick hair and "flawless" skin. and evolution is just a theory.
