the point is not killing him they're both rivals and what is to beat the shit out of goku and both of them fighting there best and win doing so is what vegeta wants. since vegeta lost everytime he and goku got in a fight. and later on he get pissed when he found out goku held back and it made him believe that he could actually beat him.

i think the creators of this show purposely make vegeta look imposibly weak. in the movies he either doesn't show up or only fights for the last 10-15 min so he can just get the crap beaten out of him like the rest of the guys and goku save the day single handedly again.

The reason I believe(to answer which SSJ2 is stronger) is because Goku was SSJ3 at the time. I think that no matter what lvl of SSJ your using if you can go to a higher lvl of SSJ you can increase the strength, speed, power, and etc. of the lower forms. Training is most definetly required and both have that, its just Vegeta cannot go SSJ2. Also I have to agree, Akira made Vegeta way to weak when its clear in my opinion Vegeta works harder. Granted time in other world moves faster(con)

so Goku had a longer training period than Vegeta, Vegeta pushes himself to near death in his training sessions and he still isnt close? Theres the question of wheather or not he was SSJ2 at the end of the Kid Buu Saga, in my opinion Vegeta reached that lvl during his training sessions before the world tournament. Training for 7 years is most definetly enough time for Vegeta to have gotten to SSJ2, the reason I believe he didn't reach SSJ3 when he became Majin was because he didn't have(con)

Also, if you watched the DBZ series, Goku never backed down in fear from any opponent. Goku is and always will be stronger than Vegeta... except in their first encounter, but that's all.
