Video Description:
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease. It can cause inflamation in the joints, rashes, fatigue, some flu-like symptoms, and multipe other organ and blood problems. It can affect any part of the body and is highly individualized, so no two cases are ever exactly alike. I decided that there needs to be more personal SLE experiences up, so I've started my own video journal about my experience with Lupus. Any comments, or if anyone wishes to chat, my AIM and YIM is MonkeyPantyhose. If I'm on, I'm open for chatting. :)

i hope you feel a lot better, i lost my best friend in 2004 to lupas... it was really upsetting. i understand a lot more about lupus, thanks to your blog. your very brave.

I would like to thank you for being so strong to take the enitiative to come out and share your experience with lupus. You are not alone with this disease. I have been diagnosed with discocud Lupus for 8 years now and every day I wake up is a reminder of how tough of a day I will have. Like you.......I was depressed the first few years. getting used to the fact but I learned to think for myself and there was a time I kinda got selfish and just focused on my health

Wow, you are such a bright girl. I am 20 yrs old MALE and recently been diagnosed with Lupus also. It's been really tough for me and my family. I totally agree with the statement "If you have lupus, you've got to have a good sense of humor" to make the best out of everyday. I want everybody out there with lupus or any other chronic illness to know that cure is not far away.

Hi WillowMagic! This is WillowDove. I just started my Lupus Vlog. I'm 40 yrs old and just found out I have Lupus. I've been ill for many years and they just figured it out. I'm pretty sure I've had this since I was a child. I can trace it back to when I was 12 yrs old. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and that you make more vids. Good for you for posting this! My name is Steve:I was diagnose with lupus at 40.I'm now 44 and on full disability and I've had 3 heart attacks(1st at 32)with 6 stints in my cornary arteries,on countless drugs. I'm not even close to the same person I use to be.I'm in pain most of the time. Chest,rib,hands,feet,neck,Sholders,hips, pelvis,all my tendons.Unbelievable fatigue!!! I live with fear that I could killover at any moment.Divorce from my wife and to top it all off I'm Incredibly poor. It really unfair and shitty.

Lupus is so strange. I am having a hard time with it. I feel so tired all the time, and my neck hurts alot. You are a very brave woman. Let's pray for the cure.

Oh Thank you for posting this!
It took about 14 months of SERIOUS looking by my wonderful doctor (who was reading until wee hours of the morning so many nights) to find out I had lupus. I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE, Sjogrens, RA (and a few other fun things that I got with the "Fabulous Package Deal") in 1998 at age 27. My platelets were about 58 at the time. I had never even HEARD of lupus before that.

It took me about 4 years before I "truly" came to accept it.
My lifeline has been that I have found new things that I CAN do. I may not be able to live the original dreams that I had planned for my life, but I have dreamed NEW DREAMS now.... And I am happy!
There is life with Lupus and you are going to be one of the success stories! I LOVE your sense of humor and look forward to updates from you!

Thank you SO much for posting this. You are VERY brave. I have lupus and was diagnosed almost a year ago. I'm 20 years old and I don't have enough courage to talk about it so freely or do the things you're doing. So thank you, for doing what SO many people with lupus can't.. and getting it out there. I am very sorry that you have to go thru Lupus as a child. I was diagnosed with Lupus on 10-28-2005. I know what you are going thru. Your poor parents. Please contact me if you ever want to talk about Lupus. I have joined a support group where I live that helps. take care Angie

hi wow i didnt know youtube had this sort of stuff Im 18 now but iv had SLE lupus since i was 11yrs but the docs sai iv prob had it since i was 3 i just wanst dignosed till i was 11 i take all those lovley meds including the dreaded prednisone but props to this vid ill try an dmake a vid response later i actually have just had a bad flare of costochondrtis has ne one had this with there lupus? but great for doign this keep it up! =)

Hi brave girl. I'm 55 years old now and have had lupus since I was 20 so practically a lifetime. I was not expected to live beyond 30 but here I am. It's a very long and bumpy road but it's still worth the ride. A cure may be found in your lifetime - I think stem cells are our best option. Probably too far ahead for me but definitely not for you. Get a top specialist you can trust and rely on. That show House makes me laugh but it has brought Lupus into the open. All the best.

hi my name is ruby and i was diagnosed with lupus 8 years ago. sometimes im in a lot of pain from the lupus . . the meds that i was given makes me sick so now when im hurting i try to deal wit it the best i can. was getting shots in my feet but they caus my feet to turn white so i had to stop taking them. . just found out last year that it was the reason i was having so many terrible headaches. i have been on a heart monitor because of the lupus. dont ever give up . . god bless you all.

Thank you for your video. I was diagnosed with lupus (official diagnosis) in 2006. I've battled it since 1989. I have APS and had a heart attack in 1989. I now take Methotrexate, Coumadin, Plauqinil, and all the other Lupie drugs. Please keep posting. You are so brave. I hope we see a cure in your lifetime!
