Oh! That's orrible! It is the worst interpretation of this aria I have never heard! I am Italian, the Callas' pronuntiation is horrible and her voice to! I cannot understand why she is called "Divina". Every opera singers sing better!

Whatever you say about Callas, whether you are Italian or not, it cannot be sheer coincedence that even today we still discuss the Callas Reign in Opera, Voice and Interpretations.She was undoubtetly extremely musical and showed great respect to the works of Composers.Respect that we today should show to people such as her who managed to capture audiences all over the Universe and for such a long period of time too!!!

But in fact you are right: she was good at capturing the audience, that's true, but i'm talking about her voice... it isn't possible to say that Callas' voice is the best in the opera. Renata Scotto, Monserrat Caballè, Diana Damrau have certanly a more beautiful voice and diction!

Callas' s voice may not have been the most beautiful in Opera but she had a distinct sound of her own that you cannot miss when you hear.That is by itself a great asset. As far as beauty of voice is concerned Mme Caballe is without a doubt the Emperess of them all!!

I am a Callas's fan, but I think that you are right. Not only those sopranos that you mencioned have more beautiful voice than Maria, many of them have it too, but we have to look at her as an artistic fenomeno, like she was or is. In my opinion, her main constribution is the interpretation, and i that my friend, she is and she will be the best. Regards, ernesto.
