it's just to get the right angle when taking off the ground. if the first strafe isn't good, you won't make the jump in most cases.

No. Turning in the ground gives you speed, just try cl_showpos 1
Normal running speed with knife 250. But when you turn it goes atleast up to 265.

as i always say:
you can't compare 1.6 to css. these games use a totally different engine and so he gameplay is something completely different.
so your comment says the same as if you'd have written "HEY! But I have 137 Pokémon in my Pokédex!"
u know? :D
but 1.6 has a much better trickjump community :P
