Jeet (English: Victory) is a 1996 Indian Bollywood film directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film stars Sunny Deol, Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. Actors Tabu, Amrish Puri, Dalip Tahil and Alok Nath made up supporting roles.
Kajal (Karishma Kapoor) is daughter of Sidhant Sharma. Karan (Sunny Deol) is a criminal working for Gajraj Chaudhry who falls in love with Kajal and follows her everywhere. Initially she dislike him. Gradually they fall in love and Karan leaves the world of crimes to return to a normal life.
Raju (Salman Khan) comes back from America and is to be married to Kajal. Kajal leaves Karan which breaks his heart and he starts visiting Tulsibai (Tabu), a tawaif (dancer/prostitute).
Raju learns that his Dad and Uncle Gajraj are into illegal activities. He tries to destroy their business. So Karan is given the contract of killing Raju.
Karan finds out that Raju is Kajal's husband and helps him fight against evil. In the climax scene, Karan dies protecting Raju and Kajal.
Sunny Deol (Born as Ajay Singh Deol) on October 19, 1956 in New Delhi, India. He is a National Film Awards winning film (Bollywood) actor of Punjabi descent.
Sunny Deol was born in New Delhi , India, to veteran actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur. He has a younger brother, Bobby Deol, who is also an actor; two sisters who are settled in California; and two half-sisters, Esha Deol, an actress and Ahana Deol, from his father's re-marriage to actress Hema Malini. His wife is Pooja Deol and they have two children. His cousin Abhay Deol is also currently an actor. He always wanted to be an actor being the son of the famous actor, Dharmendra. Sunny finished his schooling from Sacred Heart High School, Santacruz (Mumbai). He attended Podar College in Matunga (Mumbai). Sunny went to England to study acting. He joined Old Web Theatre in Birmingham, England where he studied theatre and acting. He was at the peak of his career during the nineties. He has done his physical training from Sylvester Stallone gym and have taken full body building training under his assistance
Sunny made his acting debut in the Blockbuster movie Betaab in 1983. After some average movies he starred in an action film Arjun (1985). He played the role of a jobless angry youth who is forced to become a gangster with guns and knives by circumstances. This role established his image as the action hero of Bollywood. After another period of mixed success, Sunny's breakthrough role came with Ghayal (1990) directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. His role of a boxer who fights for his family received cult status. The government of India awarded him a national award for his role of a lawyer in 'Damini'. Many of his films in the action genre including Tridev (1989), Vishwatma (1992), Imtihaan (1995), Ghatak: Lethal (1996), Ziddi (1997), Border (1998) and Indian (2001) were some of the biggest hits of his career.
He has also had success in romantic and dramatic roles in films including Chaalbaaz (1989), Damini - Lightning (1993), Darr (1993), Jeet (1996) and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). Gadar: Ek Prem Katha remains one of the most successful Bollywood films to date at the box office. His last release is Apne which brought him with his father and brother together for the first time. The film was a super hit in the deol territory of north India and in overseas and an average hit in rest of India.
Sunnny made his directorial debut with the 1999 film Dillagi starring himself, younger brother Bobby Deol & Urmila Matondkar. The film wasn't a box office success but won him critical acclaim for his very first directorial attempt.
