Eric Burdon & Brian Auger Band - House of the Rising Sun 1992
Released 1964 by 'The Animals' with Eric Burdon as Lead Vocal
There is a house way down in New Orleans, Louisiana
They call the Rising Sun, yeh yeh yeh ...
And it's been a ruin, been a ruin, been a ruin, been a ruin
of many, many a poor boy, yeh yeh yeh in me
I know, I know, I know, I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed so my new bluejeans, yeh yeh
My father was a gamblin' man
Way down, way down, way down, way down in New Orleans
I'm goin' back, I'm always goin' back
to where, to where my reds have begun, yeh yeh yeh yeh
I'm going back to win my life
To wear that ball and chain
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun, yeh yeh yeh
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy
In dream yeh will I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know
I'm one
oh Lord forgive me
of all my ... yeh yeh yeh

A great performance ... ( 9 months ago by IrisPatricia)
A great performance, but for sure NOT from 2004. At that time Larry Wilkins (RIP), the guitar player, was already dead for 7 years. Also Eric and Brian didn't work together anymore even longer. Howevr, thanks a lot for this vid! :-)

He's yelling "2000" at the end, so I'm assuming that was the year. Looked good for 60. Not really sure what happened since then, 'cause he looks like he's 80 now. Great video!
Although, if the ... ( 8 months ago by overdue3)
Although, if the guitar player has been dead since 1997, it probably would have been difficult for him to make it to this performance in 2000, so maybe mid-90's?
I saw Eric and ... ( 8 months ago by IrisPatricia)
I saw Eric and Brian in March 1993. And the CD "Access all areas" also is from that year. They didn't stay together for a very long time, so I guess this video might be fron 1992 or 1993.

Be sure not to push the wrong button when quoting - else you might end up like Ringo in the sea of monsters
Loved every minute ... ( 7 months ago by LynnCaldwell1954)
Loved every minute without question, as I was fortunate to have grown up listening to both Burdon & Auger. I was truly lucky to have met Larry Wilkins at a Burdon show in 1995-96, what a gifted, talented, cordial, honorable man and what a grounded individual. I so sad to here of his passing in 1997. What a great lost to this world, maybe more than even Mr. Wilkins may have known.
Thanks for being who you still are and were. RIP

This was recorded 1992 or 1993. They said "World wide peace for the year 2000" = 2000 =Millenium.
it wasnt the year 2000. eric burdon was always for peace!

I think, he was stoned on best weed, after 3 nights of drinking. Very relaxed and amused. Eric is a real rocker and he don´t care about singing on shitty, commercial TV. For me, is that performance more a funny one. Eric "Bourbon" is an authentic artist with up and downs, like most people. Respect for his honesty!

OMG, this is so NOT the Burdon of the 60s. Even in their 1st cover of the song, its' entire Animals identity lied in the amazing guitar playing of Hilton Valentine. This is funny, but sad, and ohhhh sooo BAD.

This all he does since the 70s. Check out his studio album with covers of the stones and of course house of the rising sun (done sometime in the seventies). All he does now is change the way he does house of the rising sun and other tunes. He's been doing this shit for a while. It really pisses me off. Because he really butchers a lot of his classics. I never thought in my life I would say this.

James I agree with you. At times he will do a great job. But very often he screams and changes the original arrangements and replaces them with weaker versions. A shame!
