Why are new singable melodies of the calibre of "Blowing" not being composed/heard nowadays?
Why is music performance no longer taught in public schools, except tokenly?
Why do "protesters" today rotely repeat past mantras, instead of thinking for themselves about what is really going on now (e.g. Rove and Bush did not hatch an invasion of Iraq, and Democrats rubberstamp it, for "oil")?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.

I was there. Were you? This was the beginning of a week long series of anti-war and social issue protests, demonstrations,lobbying, and teach-ins (remember those?)that culminated in the Mayday disruption of business as usual in DC. 10s of 1000s of demonstrators; 1000s of federal troops; 10,000+ arrested and detained.
Peace and social justice is hard work.

WoW! This is my birthday. I was born about the same time this song was going on. I was adopted and want to find my birth parents. 4/24/71 McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden, UT. She was a nursing student at Weber State College. That's all I know and all I can get from the Govt. Please help me.

Us old hippies are getting old. Time for this next generation to take up the cause. Where are the next gen of anti war songs?? WE sang, WE marched, WE did our part. Time for the this generation to take up the mantle. I marched back in the day, I phoned, I wrote. I`m old and tired now,but I`m still calling and writing (can`t march no more). If there is still an anti-war message out there, let me know and I will send it out to every source I know. I`m just not hearing the message.

I agree with you completely. Where are they? Do they need a draft to get motivated? They shouldn't. I'm getting a little older too. Gov. pulled out troops from Vietnam not long after this protest. We'd have been out of Iraq long ago if the young people of today would get organized. I don't understand it. They have the hi tech facebook, myspace, etc. to get the word out.
