This report is so skewed. It is being viewed from a western perspective and Aljazeera is becoming a western mouthpiece. Aljazeera sucks now.

Kasparov is an ... ( 9 months ago by ShadM8)
Kasparov is an opportunistic and deceiving business man. He was much happier during the 90s when he made his fortunates. Where was he then? When the country and more importantly the people, he proclaims to care so much for, was pillaged and ravaged.
He supported everything from communism in the 80s to Yeltsin in the 90s or whatever else was popular at the time and has absolutely no moral or ideological ground to stand on.

I'd like to hear the version where Putin is analyzed as pro-democratic.
He would win the popular vote but he seems to prefer to shut down any opposition and blocking the impartial election observers.

Nice piece of propaganda... Didn't know that Al Jazeera was so loyal to its American masters.
He's not a Western ... ( 9 months ago by brick4sale)
He's not a Western puppet he just gets Western media attention. Russians don't really know democracy, and they don't want it now because Putin makes them proud again. Yeltsin embarrassed them and they watched standard of living plummet.
The truth is that ... ( 9 months ago by brick4sale)
The truth is that under Putin freedom of the press has been stifled, so it is stupid to say that Al Jazeera is producing a propaganda piece, because they have lost journalists themselves, so why wouldn't they side with the journalists that have oppressed, silenced and killed.

This comment is absolutely idiotic.
Where was Kasparov in the 80s and 90s ?
Well he was no 1 in chess and in what way should this fact diminish his ambitions today ?
Kasparov has enough money to rest on a beach for the rest of his life. What else than true moralic and ideologic fuel enables Kasparov to stand on the barricades with risk for his own life ?
Kasparov is the ... ( 9 months ago by huckteeper)
Kasparov is the whining frontman of a party with miniscule support. He doesn't even LIVE in Russia, preferring instead to meddle in Russian politics from his base in the United States. He should concentrate on what he does best - play chess, and quit complaining that his party, which seeks a return to the tribal smash'n'grab of the Yeltsin era, does not have any public support.

My Friend you are mixing up cause and result. Garry is in the USA because he is not safe in Russia. I agree with you that he has marginal support but that isn't so odd when you consider you are putting your life on the line when having a different opinion then that of the state. Putin isn't loved by what he has done, he's loved because the people know no different and haven't been given a chance to experience anything different. human beings like garry kasparov must be supported! his aim is noble and he stands for what he´s talking. all those critics in the web hide themselves because they don´t dare to get out and commit to human rights! human rights are for every indivdual, no matter if russian or american or european. i advise you to use brains, if there´s any left and think before talking! we would need more of kasparovs kind! ralph thornbird

He is a F***ing parasite to the Russians. He is CLEARLY Anti-Russia, NOTICE that he speaks English and wants to show the Liberal West how "bad" it is in Russia. And his stories lies are obvious. He is allowed to protest, like anyone else, he just goes to areas where he DISTURBS the Peace of the Russian PEOPLE!!He is just another Jew trying to overthrow a Chrisitian Regime.

His ideas are Crap, and he is absolutely no threat to the Russian Regime, it is that he has so much money to spread his crap, he is well equipped financially. He is Clearly an Enemy within Russia, and he is a Jew. If he wanted to be a Russian president he should have worried about the Best interest of Russia, and not his own.
