In the future all supplies are going to cost more becuase the dollar is being flooded on the market (by both CONGRESS and THE FED), which means that we won't have the money to buy things (both the average American and our Government- I know they are borrowing now, but China isn't going to put up with this forever)~! McCain is talking about 100 years in Iraq as well as bombing Iran. With what? The current number one US export is debt, and that is only possible because the Chinese government has huge dollar reserves, which, if dumped on the global market, would cause the dollar to lose even more value until the military couldn't even afford the fuel for the armed forces.

Dave, I really think that the problem is that the NEOs dont understand the economics of the situation. Those who benefit financially from this situation are the same ones that set the debate. It may require an economic collapse to convince these people that when a government outgrows its economy, it is destructive no matter what it is spent on, with the possible exceptions of investments in productivity increases through infrastructure, R&D and occupation specific education.

This de-stabilizes governments and allows for control to move toward a central government. Osama said that he was going to topple us by bankrupting us not through terrorism. You do make some very interesting points, and they are valid. However, I think this is the wrong election for it. If McCain is elected this year we will have the White House for the 2010 census we will have the White House for quite some time afterwards. We can't afford to pass up that opportunity.
