people like ovations because of the shape, the design, and also how it cuts through other instruments
sometimes you see people playing in gigs with acoustics and the sound just blends in and you dont hear it at all over all the other instruments.
ovations are known to cut through that noise and help the acoustic sound stand out more. it all depends on what sound you're going for. hes an artist, let him use his own tools.

Ovations don't help the acoustic sound stand out more, because ovations do not have an acoustic guitar sound. they are purely a box with strings and piezo pickups.

You can tell its an ovation cause of the dumb back on the guitar. Why did Ovation even make that substance?? Feels like sharp rocks on your stomach. i completely agree that he needs a martin or stonebridge. I dunno if this style would be good on a lowden or not.
