He didn't use photo-reading at all, he says in the commentary to this on his DVD that he influenced the page and word the guy chose, and his book has details on how to memorise stuff like the contents of a page easily.

If Derren did indeed say 'on the DVD' that he influenced 'the guy' to choose the page and word, he was economically with the truth. Prior to the scene being shot I actually gave them the page and line from the OED. I played a trick on Derren and wanted see whether he would be brazen enough to claim that he learned the whole of the OED by heart in 20 minutes. He did make that claim: cheeky! He is not always 'honest with his dishonesty'. Fame and TV ratings are his main interest. And why not?

Just trying to understand how YouTube works. I already learned that the apparent anonymity of comments on YouTube brings out the worst in some people; their comments are extremely silly, shallow, asocial, often obscene. It might be that she/he got so many "downward pointing thumbs" that the comment got deleted automatically, or the comment was reported or something like it. If it was really offensive it might have been deleted by youtube.

he can´t do that... phisioligically, his brain should have an illness that may allow him to remember that amount of pages. but, well, he wouldn't be able to speak, or behave normal. Plus, his eyes should be moving. photoreading is not possible the way he makes it. and librarian is poor. if, in any case, could recall that specific info, he should be under hipnosys. people in england should be really stupid to believe this.

Derren is an accomplished performer but ALL his tricks involve old, well-known magic tricks, enhanced by selective editing of videos. His explanations usually are part of the deception. He exploits the gullibility of his victims, and the YouTube audience. Pure voyeurism and Big Brother exhibitionism. None of his tricks involve subliminal suggestion, photo-reading, or NLP. Lately, he tries to reposition himself as an enlightened sceptic. Too late and too little. Derren Brown is a fraud.

dude: besides we don't care and believe your cousin have photographic memory, it is widely known that derren brown has little chance to posses a photographic memory. Photographic memory DOES exist, but i don't believe derren brown or ur cousin are gifted. In conclusion, stop sending messages that make me waste my time. Read science, not magic.

somewhat true, but some people are normal with it, a kid in my school has a photographic memory but he also has autism so with him being the best learner in the school I go to, he also has the little something that makes him stand out from everyone else, but it's not a severe case at all, if this makes any sense.

He is a magician. Don't knock the man for fooling people. It is an act,it is for fun, and I must say,it is a better show than magicians cutting people in half.
He has the support of james randi. Which means he is a magician who is putting on a show. You're no better then the a-hole who say's out loud in an audience, "It's up his sleeve I saw it!"
Don't spoil the fun for people. That's all it is no NLP, no photographic memory, just entertainment, through modern magic tricks.
