Amazing Mommy Cat Nurses Rejected New Born Chihuahua Puppies

Feeding time at the Mason home is a bit unusual. That's because Susie Mason's cat, Tinkerbell, is nursing not only her three newborn kittens, but also three Chihuahua puppies whose own mother won't nurse them. Susie Mason's cat, Tinkerbell, took over feeding duties for her friend's Chihuahua puppies after their mother Harley, refused to do it, according to owner Connie Garman. The Murrieta feline who has three kittens to feed already, hasn't seemed to mind a bit that the three puppies have moved in. According to Mason, the puppies seem to like feeding from the bottom teats with the kittens using the top teats.

Was there ever a followup Here? Did they all live? We hand raised from birth (Nov.1, 2005) an abandoned chihuahua puppy girl, still have her. She is the sweetest dog imaginable. She got canned mommy dog formula LOL. Nice story here.

Outdoor cats have average 1-5 year life span and indoor cats have average 10+ year life span.... it really doesn't matter if there fixed or not... My sister has a couple of unaltered, outdoor cats that are almost 8.

You are correct, I misspoke ... though fixed outdoor cats live longer than intact outdoor cats (less roaming = fewers HBCs and less fighting = less disease). It's great that your sister's cats have beaten the odds, but anecdotal at best. It does matter if cats are fixed, pyometra can't happen to spayed cats and the incidence of breast cancer is far, far lower. Regardless, it is utterly ridiculous to discourage fixing pets while shelters are over-loaded and killing 1000s of cast-offs.

I've had my cat since he was a kitten. He's always been an outdoor cat (strictly outdoors), although he is fixed. He is 14 years old now.

This is so lovely. Nature is a wonderful thing and surprises all the time! My dog did the same thing for a stray kitten. She nursed him, produced milk - I suppose similar to a "phantom pregnancy" as they call it (as she was spayed). 3 years on I still have them both and they're still the best of friends! My vet actually entered my dog for an award in amazing animals nationwide competition because he was so taken by it himself!

thats what my cat did to a winner dog pup after its mom was put down and at that time she had kittins but only 1 survied wene we first brought the dog in the cat kinda moved away but about a half a hour later it was wimpering and she took pity on it

I'm willing to bet that cat milk is probably even better than dog milk. Cats need more protein in their diet than dogs. Dogs can live on cat food but cats can't live on dog food so I imagine cat milk is probably more than a puppy like a chihuahua might need. Don't quote me on that, it's just me speculating.
