Yes, but Bono flew his hat first class in its own seat at incredible cost, because he was missing it. How many starving people would that money have kept alive? Isn't that spoiled brat type behaviour? Isn't that hypocrisy? He stashes his dosh away to a tax haven and then tells the Irish Gov To send relief to Africa, if they had his dosh they could afford to. Bono just has a snese of humor, plus it might've been his Dad's hat, that's why he likes it, and he wanted it for comfort... plus with the amount of money Bono would make, i think he can afford to spoil himself once in a while, you'd do it, i do we all do. Who knows how much money Bono has donated tp charities... spoiled brat behaviour would be kicking and screaming for his hat and someone else paying it for him, he paid for it himself. so that isn't spoilt!

Honestly, I think he's getting in on the Bob Geldolf/sting thing. It helped their popularity, difference is, is that they're both genuine. Whereas Bono is doing it to gain popularity. Yeah, he's got a sense of humour, doesn't take himself too seriously, that's because he can't. Takes integrity to genuinely follow your beliefs, & if you can't quite manage it then you laugh at yourself. No I wouldn'spend a fortune on getting my hat. That's just pure decadence, best wishes to you. You sound nice.

I read many posts about Bono. Adulation and disgust. In my humble opinion, Bono is this: An artist. As such he has a flair for the dramatic and probably a big dose of ego. That is the negative side of an performing artist. The positives: Lots of energy. Lots of emotion. Highest of highs. Lowest of lows. But that depth of emotion (albeit, s mixed need for attention) can accomplish great things. Performers are easy to make fun of, but they do make the world a better place, Bono included.

U2 and especially Bono use their celebrity to really promote the causes they believe in. They put their money where their mouth is, for sure. Meeting with world leaders, the pope, Bill Gates...
