Hell yeah Steveygee, Blind Willie McTell is the man! He never gets enough credit for his music but he is deff. one of the best blues players ever, possibly the best.

Of course Elmore, Clapton, Skip, Big Bill Broonzy, Buddy Guy, Robert Johnson, The Three Kings, Otis Rush, Muddy, Howlin' Wolf and SRV are great too. How can you not love the blues?

Not the original Elmore James recording but a re-recording from about 1961. The original recording is from 1957. Another point of interest, the song prob originates from Tampa Red's version.

no better intro to any elmore song. no better music than blues. no better bluesman than elmore. he was the best blues singer of all time and always will: there never has and never will be someone quite like him. todays musicians are all a far cry from this unreachable master

these days there is a load of hype going on about some fat chick called kaki king, they venerate her as a new " guitar goddess", oh my god how disastrous ! shes got no soul and no talent and not even looks nice! thankk god there are huge talents like beth hart, ana popovic, sue foley, edie brickell, amy winehouse out there and that we had some great players like roy buchanan or otis rush, pete townshend, jerry garcia or jorma kaukonen(the old ones are still the best!)

Incredible - from the days when only talent could get you a market. James picks up the guitar, plays and sings, from the heart. No fancy echoes, no sound effects to polish the guitar.
And what a voice. Unique.

Iam desperately looking for a song, released somewhere in the early seventies called "elmore james". It seemed to be rather a gospel than blues tune. "Elmore james" was the refrain. Does anyone have an idea?
