A policy change by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is allowing cellular service carriers to discontinue providing cellular service using analog cellular technology also known as AMPS. If you have cellular backup or a cellular radio is the primary means of alarm signal transmission from your alarm system to, and it operates on an analog cellular network, it will stop operating and stop sending alarm signals when the cellular companies discontinue their analog network services and they change to a digital network. (On or around February 18, 2008)
