They automatically got copyright when they made the videos. However they have legally placed these videos in the public domain (by stating this in their videos). Thats it. These are public domain videos. You can do what you want to them. CSE have no legal copyright claim on these videos whatsoever.

Thank you for clarifying this issue. I actually just heard about it today when I got an e-mail from the Atheist Nation site requesting help for their upcoming lawsuit with the Hovinds. Funny, conservative Christians are all about free speech and defending freedom until you disagree with them.

copyright do NOT apply anyway when you have parodied their works due to FREE SPEECH. Even if their materials were copyrighted, they cannot sue you if you use the material to make fun of them. If they try to take "legal action" they have violated your First Amendment rights to free speech and such claims are un-constitutional.
