This video here would have been at about 40X magnification, if I remember correctly. Maybe a bit more.

Though I didn't write down which eyepiece I used, I'm almost certain I would have used my 32mm eyepiece (which is a 2" eyepiece - perhaps that's where the extra field of view is comming from). My scope has a focal length of 1250mm, so 1250/32 = 39X. That is the lowest magnification I can get, I don't have any larger eyepieces.

Through the homemade 6 inch telescope I have right now I have seen this too (without using a finderscope, pretty surprised that I found it) I do want to upgrade to a 10 inch LX200-ACF from Meade.
What deep-sky ... ( 3 months ago by alphaaquarii)
What deep-sky objects can I see with a 60mm refractor?...I know, it's a poor diameter, but I'd like to know if I can see any other objects besides M45 (the famous "Pleiades" open cluster).
I'm not really sure ... ( 3 months ago by ChrissyoSpace)
I'm not really sure, I'm not too familiar with telescopes other than my own and I don't spend much time on deep-sky stuff. But you should see some of the brighter stuff I suppose, Orion Nebula, Omega Centauri, M4. You'd probably do better asking someone with more experience than me.
Well, you would ... ( 2 months ago by AstronomyOnline)
Well, you would probably be able to see M13 (The hercules cluster) in your telescope. Its magnitude is 5.9 so you would be able to see it. Other basic deep sky objects you could try is the ring nebula M57, dumbbell Nebula and m92.
If you want to see ... ( 1 month ago by gaz52)
If you want to see deep space objects then get a bigger telescope. It's the size that matters. The bigger it is the better.
Yeah, the view ... ( 1 week ago by ChrissyoSpace)
Yeah, the view through the telescope by eye was much better than that given with this camera. Light pollution wasn't the cause (I live in a fairly light pollution free area) - it was the camera. It's just a regular video camera running at 30FPS. Not good at all for dimmer objects like the orion nebula.
