You should come down from your ivory tower and walk around the bronx with fr. stan before you judge him. I'm glad the church changes with the times. If you think your church hasn't changed, re-read your history books. And who are you calling Anglican? He's Catholic. Protestantism in and of itself is a "change" with the "times". Which "times" are you locked into? you lost the colonies, the war is over, get used to it.

Thanks for the abuse. Don't lecture me on getting real - I'm a Catholic priest whose former parish was in the Gaza strip and have seen things you will never encounter in your life. When you've been shot at for protesting against the Israeli army then you can lecture me about the real world.

Much respect and gratitude for your commitment to the Church and your sacrifices. Fr. Stan is not about doctrinal dilution. A religious priest in an orthodox franciscan community he is committed to the timeless truths of our faith. Apostolate: service of the poor & evangelization. Evangelization can be reaching out to a youth group in a conservative parish but it can also be taking the gospel to everyone Christ died for, including rap-loving teenagers. Let us pray for each other.

I knew Father Stan before he became a Priest when he was 17 years old in NY. I played music in my basement with him and saw him progress to become and excellent base player. The neighborhood he grew up in Yonkers was not an easy place to grow up in and he will tell you his history in a minute. I have no doubt that he is in the true service of God-No matter what church you come from. If they are doing something good for youth people should respect that

I don't think the silly stuff to that song is a good idea. Everybody Got 2 Suffer is pretty good, but I hope they don't sing that at Masses. He is real for the people who're on the streets, but is he keepin' it real as a Franciscan? Would it not be better if he just did his stuff as a street preacher¬ doing fancy shows? I'm not saying he's living a posh lifestyle on the road, though, but the limelight outside of street preaching may B not the Franciscan style. Cut a cheap album, maybe.

At the same time, using your talents for God is a good thing. I'm not saying he is Mr. Big back at his friary. I'm just saying the temptation could be there. Maybe people could use him there or they could open a friary in another state. I mean, these East Coast orders need a satellite friary further West in case terrorists ever hit it. I mean, I think the St. Nicholas church there was wasted by the towers falling.
If I joined them, I'd hackysack--maybe make it popular omn the streets. :)
