How to do a Boot defragment 2.Read Description!

Ok. If the video didn't really help you. Then Do this Click Start then Run and in the run type Regedit then click ok then look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE when this is open click SOFTWARE then look for Microsoft click it. Then look for Dfrg click it. Then look for BootOptimizeFunction. When you are there double click on the 2nd one. Then change the value data to Y then press ok. Then once you did that press F5 on your keyboard. If this doesn't work plz tell me and Ill do the best I can to help..

This Will work with both Windows Xp and vista as you can see in the video. It will not work
with windows 9x (95or98)

What exactly does this do? I can see you enable some sort of tool within the boot process, but there must be a reason it's not turned on permanently from the start. Are you sure it's necessary to keep it turned on, and not just run it on 1 boot?

No It just puts the Boot files closer for faster start-up. And im and enabling nothing. Just changing the value to "y" and pressing F5.

Ok your half right On most systems, boot defragment should be enabled by default, but it may not be , or it may have been changed inadvertently.
