Philip Glass - Sesame Street - Geometry of Circles (extended cut)

I took the four available videos on YouTube and edited them together. I don't know if they were ever meant to be a part of each other (I've only ever seen them appear in episodes separately), but they seem to go together well. It's still as yet undetermined whether or not there were more segments produced in this series.

I think you'll find they are not friends hence Glass changed the title of his work Two Pages For Steve Reich (1968) to just Two Pages following their public fallout. Agreed, their musics are of a similar genre.

This is Philip Glass? I always wondered who did the music for these little segments. A trippy classic of the old Sesame Street.

Actually, the organ arpeggios remind me a bit of Terry Riley as well. In any case, try to catch any kids show nowadays using music by serious avant-garde composers...ah, the '70s, what a decade.

Hmm, youre right, Philip Glass does sound alot like other classic minimal composers, lets see who we can name drop to seem like we're not dilletantes... sounds a bit like.. Steve Reich dont you think? Terry Riley is good.. How about Pauline Oliveros or Charlemagne Palestine or Christina Kubisch? no too deep... Yoshi Wada? not him either. Yes I guess youre right, the arpeggios remind me of Terry Riley too. Think Ill go read the Wire then put on my Rainbow in Curved Air record.
