Reagan may have cut taxes and built up the military in his early years of his presidency, but he later raised taxes and put in Sandra Day O'Connor as a Supreme Court Justice. Reagan also allowed amnesty in 1986, and never followed through on closing the borders. Krauthamer and Kristol are neoconservatives who believe in pre-emptive strikes against enemies of Israel and America. They are socially liberal when it comes to abortion, gay marriage, etc.

Neocons are realistic. Leave the social issues up for debate (abortion, gay rights etc.), and focus on what really matters: economics and war. They have been very successful in the past years, and I think they will have a profound influence over future US foreign policy as well.

Due Respect! Al Gore went to countries all over the globe, and made the presentations, and truly worked on this for years. His premise to bring awareness is certainly beneficial across the board, no matter what politics are. And he can do more than he could in the political scene. I disagree. Had it not been for these people, Saddam and his cronies would still be in charge torturing the innocent. Yes, the war is also bad but I would rather have a war and decades of freedom, than live under totalitarianism for the rest of my life.
The situation in Iraq is already improving, and the troops will be coming home soon. After all of this bloodshed, Iraq really deserves freedom and democracy. The neocons are among the first to support that.
