That's one of the weird (interesting?) things about YouTube: getting replies to comments you made months ago (and had forgotten you made). Personally, I find The Information to be the least interesting of Beck's albums with my favorite being Midnite Vultures followed by Mutations.

This is amazing - Beck does have a kid he's called Cosimo... there's been talk he's had another but thats not important -
Being able to produce music and transcend genre's for 10 years thats talent just because he doesnt sound the same as at least 30 other artists doesnt mean he's not talented...thats just the way music is now though

Absolutely, I'm glad someone brought that up! In fact, the whole album seems to have that Scientology flavor.
don't misunderstand, I love beck aswell, and would never try to belittle his work; but aesthetically, The information leaves a sciencefictiony, robotic impression on my palette..

Im with y'all....definitely some scientology references but anyone with a strong enough mind of their own doesnt need Beck leading them. He's a genius...As for scientology who cares...kinda silly if you ask me

maybe 'the information' refers to the unfavorable intelligence documents that the Church of Scientology stole from government offices around the world including Interpol, the F.B.I and the R.C.M.P. as well as more than 130 other agencies and departments. It was basically an attempt to give the Church a carte blanche so as to avoid any negative profiling and/or any meddling with their initiatives worldwide. P.S.: not a conspiracy, members served jail time for this.

This album may very well become a hidden gem as time passes and his discography expands. But for me Mutations will always be his most underrated album.
