"Hubble is a camera, and it takes billions of years to fully capture."
Really? Wow, guess we'll be having to wait until the year 1,000,001,995 or so for the first images to be done then.
"that since that would be more than one lightyear away you would have to wait like one year for every motion."
Fail. Things don't move, wait for some light to travel the whole distance then the next bit of light goes off. It's a constant thing.
Don't forget about Dark matter also.
But to say something is invalid simply because it is "JUST" a Theory shows the misconception of what a theory actually is.
The existence of black holes is NOT a hypothesis. There is quite enough evidence to elevate it to Theory.
Perhaps its the english word "Hole" that is misleading. I'd say its just a lot of crap in which not even light can pass near it (Hence Black)
But i see your point describing the whole theory-hypothesis statement. But when a black hole absorbs matter, doesn't it increase in size, thus making the event horizon bigger? Or, if not, the gravity & event horizon becomes stronger & bigger due to the significant increase in mass of the hole?
I wouldn't know though as I'm not an astrophysicist. All I do know is that it is apparently a well known theory and widely accepted that galaxies have black holes in them.
Remember, galaxies are huge and the collision would take a long time... If you were living on a planet in a colliding galaxy, you would live your whole life and you wouldn't see anything changing.
