yea the h.264 codec is the "part 10" version of mpeg4. it was designed to allow for higher quality videos at a low bit rate, usually half the bit rate of comparable video not encoded with h.624 Apple uses it most frequently when they encode their trailers, thats why Apple and YouTube are working together to re-encode the videos for use on Apple products, but if we start to see the benefits here on computers, it will def. make a difference.

im sure its going to be a LONG time before we see an iPhone 2nd gen. The current one has the nessesary hardware, no buttons...all Apple has to do is issue a software update, and bang you could have whatever. A new browser, a new text messaging service...the possibilities are endless.

Im a power user I have it synced with 5 email acounts its so good Im coming from a the 3G nokia E62 I came in with low expectations and Im blown away. Itune over the air might happen in 3.0 and by then it will be a full pc running OSX like the OQO.

the only people who can be converted to iPhones are iPod users, which consist of mostly PC newbies, and folks who never own portable handheld computers, i.e. Pocket PC or Palm OS devices. iPhone is completely hype served on a plate for the masses to gobble down.

Actually, everyone I know that has an iPhone now was anti-apple til this came out. The keyboard takes maybe a few minutes to get used to, tops.I have never liked apple, everything I have ever used is windows, even on mobile devices. It's way durable, the sides and back can get a scratch, but the screen near impossible. Flash is a software update coming in a couple months. The internet is way fast, wi-fi or not. Aside from the price, its pretty friggin nice. And I thought it would be crap, heh
