ROUND 2 -Show You Tube You Can Dance- Destini Rogers

Choreography: Destini Rogers
Instructions:
The name of the song is U got the look so I would like the dancers to think about wearing something that makes them feel like they have "the look." Sweatpants and a tank top won't work for this one. Be creative. maybe you could use a prop somehow. or maybe not. But most importantly, think about the accents in the music. They have to be hit hard. Movement on video does not come across as strong as it does in person, so you need to be aware of that. think stronger. think sharper.
think fiyace.

THE VOTING RULES FOR THIS ROUND HAVE CHANGED SLIGHTLY.
the top ten vote getters will automatically advance to the next round.
the bottom 10 will be at the mercy of the judges. The judges will pick five of the bottom 10 to move on to the next round.
SO... here we go again... cutting 5 finalists this round. But everyone in the top 25 receives a t shirt. so exciting!!!!!!

You can vote for as many people as you want but only once per contestant.

I don't think that it would be fair to judge this round...like with all the trouble thats been caused, peoples videos and votes getting deleted, people dancing to different songs. maybe you should just stop the voting...start another round 2 and just appreciate the dances that have been submitted? I know it seems a lame idea when people have worked hard on their videos and stuff but in the end its all dancing ...(cont)

yeah... but the judges are going to have a say in this round... so i think it will be okay. As for the videos that got deleted.. all the judges saw them before they were deleted and I have a general idea of how many votes each video had. that will all be taken into consideration.

hey everyone! I've been observing this contest since the first round and i have to say it has pretty much turned into a popularity contest. As a dance teacher myself, i find it hard to look at some routines that do not deserve to be put on to the next round based on technique/overall performance, yet have more votes then others who certainly do deserve it.

continued...Not bashing the contest or anything i just think that the judges should have more say number 1, or number 2 have the you tube public vote on who should stay after the judges have picked the top 10 and bottom 10. and of course the top 10 are automatically safe. Just a suggestion.

but also.. in response, the you tube public picks the top ten in this round and the judges pick 5 from the bottom 10 to move one. but in future rounds the judges will have more (or less) say. it changes to keep things fun. But also, you have to remember that this is a learning experience for the contestants. they should learn how to campaign and get their work out there for people to see. If they are working hard at that then I think it is cool that it is rewarded.

ha. i know which is which. but see, my opinion would be much different. I would have only 2 in common with you on the first list and 2 in common with you on the second. so... that is when i start to think, "what do i know?" because often times my opinion is very different than the next person's.

I just want to say that I think the contestants are so brave. I said that before. and, I say it again. I think everyone picked a great top 20. I didn't think everyone would post each round. I thought some people would quit but all of the top 25 learned the choreo and entered and so did the top 20. and a lot of dancers didnt have the guts to enter in the first place, or they were too lazy. so, i hope all of you are supporting their efforts. you still have a day to vote so I hope that you do.

also... contestants... those of you who are posting to blogsites, myspace, facebook and stuff... good for you. that is how I got 1000 subscribers. I didn't sit around and wait for people to find me. I would tell people at the airport to find me on you tube. along with more exposure, you will surely get negative feedback. you have to take the bad with the good. it is okay. you are doing great things by sharing your talents. I promise you. great work!!!

I understand what you're saying about campaigning/networking and such.. but I guess I just kind of hope people aren't just saying "vote for me! vote for me!" and are also saying "...and make sure to check out the other contestants and vote for your favorites!" I'd love to see everyone with more votes.
maybe someone from the show will hear about it, and they'll mention it next summer. That would be amazing.

Congratulations to all of the dancers who made it to the top 20... I am so proud of all of you. very impressed. I know it is a busy time of year. thank you to all of you! for those of you who had a hard time posting and what not, i am sorry about that problem. cont'd of the reply below...based on TALENT alone, then probably most of the house hold names, that people proclaim to be great artists wouldnt exist. Life sucks I know. But it is only human extincts, to root for the person that you relate to or youre drawn to for whatever reason. Sometimes, that may mean YOUR FRIEND. What do you think happens on "SYTYCD" the show? Contestants' families blog, vote, tell their friends to tell their friends to vote & that plays a big factor in who makes the top 4.
